Moscow Dispute Resolution Practice headed by Irina Onikienko successfully completed a complex court dispute in the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). The hearing was held via a London-Moscow-St. Petersburg conference call.
Our team represented a major shopping center in Moscow in a dispute related to failure of a well-known international retailer and an anchor tenant of the Shopping Center to pay rent.
The dispute seemed simple, but turned into an actual scientific and practical battle. The multi-component statute of limitations, setting off and netting required the parties to involve well-recognized experts. The court carefully examined the opinions of Mikhail Zinovievich Shvarts and Andrey Vladimirovich Egorov.
In the end, the court resolved that our arguments (in particular, prof Shvarts’ opinion) on key issues seemed more convincing. The court noted the high expertise and competence of the representatives of the parties in its judgment.
