Antonina Shishanova is the head of the Intellectual Property practice at CLS. She has been a member of the Bar Association of St. Petersburg since 2019.
Antonina specializes in a wide range of issues concerning the regulation of intellectual property and information technologies, including the registration of trademarks and computer software, protection of rights to intellectual property and means of individualization, registration of rights to work done for hire, development of license agreements, concession/franchise agreements and legal support of franchising networks, as well as issues of personal data processing and protection of commercial secret.
Among Antonina's clients are Russian and foreign IT companies, companies from the FMCG sector, pharma companies, auto manufacturers and well-known developers.
Antonina has vast experience in providing support for transactions on acquiring intangible assets, audit of company rights to created intellectual property, assistance to companies with combating import of counterfeit goods, communication with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) on issues of registering intellectual property, including challenging Rospatent’s decisions in the Patent Disputes Chamber, as well as representation in commercial arbitration courts, including the Intellectual Property Court, and in courts of general jurisdiction with respect to disputes over exclusive rights.
Antonina also specializes in providing assistance to companies on issues of duly establishing the commercial secret regime, including documenting relations with employees and contractors with access to confidential information, developing the necessary documentation and taking technical measures to protect such information, as well as support with disputes connected with commercial secret being divulged by employees or third parties.
Antonina is part of the CLS working group for personal data protection, develops personal data processing policies, advises Russian and foreign clients on issues of cross-border transfer of personal data and proper documentation for the personal data processing inside an organization.
Antonina writes articles and various materials on intellectual property protection for specialized publishers and media and co-authored the book “LegalTech, FinTech, RegTech etc. Legal aspects of the use of digital technologies in business.” She takes an active part as speaker at dedicated events and conferences, has experience as a guest lecturer at the St. Petersburg Branch of the Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, and on an online learning platform for designers.
The Intellectual Property practice headed by Antonina takes high positions in annual international and domestic ratings WTR 1000, Pravo-300, Kommersant in IP: registration and consulting and in Personal Data Protection.
Antonina is ranked among the best experts in IP and Personal Data Protection by the national Pravo-300 rating.
