Challenges are important, stated the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexei Ulyukaev at the round table discussion arranged by Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Finland on April 13, 2016 in Helsinki.

The event was opened by Mr. Valery Shlyamin, the Trade Representative and it was attended by the key persons of Finnish business life interested in trade with Russia, including a representative from Capital Legal Services. The firm offers legal services for companies interested in investing into the Russian market.

In his statement, Minister Ulyukaev believes that:

• the Russian economy and the public sector have adapted to the current economic situation and economic growth in Russia will start during Q4 2016;
• drop in production is over, but growth of investments is still under expectations;
• the Russian ruble exchange rate will grow and financing opportunities will improve in the near future;
• in spite of Russian import substitution programs, Russia will not isolate itself and now is the right time for investments into the Russian market.

Further, Mr. Ulyukaev noted that technical regulations shall be reduced and small and medium businesses will be granted tax benefits, interest subsidies and exemptions as regards state inspections. Enterprises established by foreign investors will be granted equal rights on par with the domestic enterprises
