The SPIBA Legislation and Lobbying Committee where Igor Gorokhov, Senior Associate of Capital Legal Services, is co-chair, was named the best SPIBA committee of the year at the SPIBA Awards Ceremony upon results of annual assessment of efficiency, development and other performances. Igor Gorokhov was first elected co-chair of the Committee in 2013 and then was re-elected in April 2015, due to high appraisal of his work in the committee.

The main goal of the SPIBA Legislation and Lobbying Committee is to create favorable conditions for doing business in North-Western Russia through improving the legislative framework.

The major functions of the Committee are to:

• Highlight problems that companies face with business, commercial, and tax legislation in North-Western Russia and lobby on behalf of SPIBA members for solutions to these problems;
• Develop legislative recommendations and initiatives;
• Interact with local and federal authorities while advancing SPIBA’s proposals and initiatives;
• Seek and build cooperation with other business associations, thus strengthening the voice of the local international business community, etc.
