Capital Legal Services is pleased to inform that Irina Akimova is appointed Of Counsel at the company.

One of the priority tasks to be accomplished by Irina in her new position is an active development of the Antitrust practice in the Moscow office of Capital Legal Services.

Prior to joining Capital Legal Services, Irina worked for 8 years in the Federal Antitrust Service (FAS), and during the last two years Irina headed the insurance market department of the Financial Market Control Directorate of the Federal Antitrust Service. Irina actively took part in developing the tools aimed at protecting competition in Russia and in preparing proposals for developing competition on financial markets. Apart from her experience of working directly in the Federal Antitrust Service, Irina Akimova has broad experience in advising clients as regards practical application of the antitrust laws, in particular, as related to dealer/distributor networks, cartel regulation, state procurement, advertising and unfair competition issues.

Irina is experienced in successfully representing client interests during examination by the Federal Antitrust Service of antitrust cases, as well as in administrative and commercial arbitration proceedings. Irina has experience in implementing projects related to applying insurance laws, including in the development and in bringing insurance rules in line with Russian law requirements, as well as other issues concerning insurance regulation.

Irina is author of many articles on antitrust law application in Russia and is a member of the non-commercial partnerships “Competition Support”, “Supporting Competition in the CIS Countries”.
