On November 14, 2017, the Swedish Consulate held a business breakfast dedicated to distributed ledger technology, block chains and crypto currencies. Representatives of major Swedish companies participated in the business breakfast.

Gleb Apenkin was an invited speaker at the event. The subject of Gleb’s presentation was “Introduction to block chain technology and crypto currencies.” In his presentation, Gleb described in detail the essence of these technologies, the difficulties and restrictions existing in this area and regulation of these technologies in different parts of the world.

Today, Russia is merely at the stage of adopting legal initiatives that would regulate this area. In October 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Government and the Russian Central Bank to ensure that amendments to the legislation are proposed, regulating the crypto currency sector, as well as new digital technologies. Gleb told the participants of the event about the latest legal initiatives in this area and shared his opinion on further developments of this field.
