On December 4, 2017, the rounds table “Currency control: principal aspects of regulation and its application in practice” took place. Ekaterina Chernenkova, Associate at Capital Legal Services, and Alexey Maslov, Head of currency control, Raiffeisenbank, spoke at the event.

The topic of currency control has become a particularly vital one due to the future introduction of the global control system and due to the currency control function being passed to the Russian Federal Tax Service, which has lead to more stringent control in currency control in Russia.

In her presentation, Ekaterina examined issues tied to Russian citizens having bank accounts outside Russia and shed some light on the position of the tax authority on various issues and potential changes in Russian currency laws.
