RUSSIAN KARATE FEDERATION

The Ukado Federation conducts scientific and instructional research on building a scientific foundation and improving this martial art sport, holding technical seminars for instructors and field judges, publishing instructional materials, articles, books, and making video aids.

One of the disadvantages ukado faces in its development is the lack of comprehensive state funding for different sports events held by the Ukado Federation. Furthermore, the Federation does not have its own independent sports base and therefore it is developed primarily through internal means

At Charity Committee level we adopted a decision and on February 22, 2009 sponsored the universal karate tournament among children age 7-14 (Ukado and Grappling), devoted to the Defender to the Motherland Day. A total of 254 competitors took part in the tournament, with teams from St. Petersburg, Leningrad Region and other regions of Russia participating.

Technical training of the competitors was high; there were no serious injuries, claims or protests. The competition was held on a high organizational level.

The winners of the tournament were awarded cups, medals and certificates. The clubs Leningradets, LiderSport and Zashchitnik Otechestva were awarded cups for taking First, Second and Third places in the competition.
