CHARITY PROGRAMS

In 2010 the Charity Committee at Capital Legal Services continues its operations.

Capital Legal Services is guided in its charity initiatives by the principle of corporate social responsibility, the essence of which is to make a lasting positive contribution to the local communities in which the Company operates and where its employees live and work.

Social and charity projects constitute an integral part of the Company’s corporate strategy facilitating the build-up of constructive partnership between the state, businesses, and society. Corporate projects are target-oriented and are based on professional experience and human potential of local communities.

The areas of child welfare, nature and environment conservation, and development of sports are among priority recipients of the Company’s funding and support.

Child welfare is the top priority of Capital Legal Services, integrated in all projects implemented: charity, sponsorship, child and youth sports programs. In the contemporary world social contributions to human capital are the most reasonable investments. When rendering its support the Company strives to find a balanced approach: helping both children more disadvantaged than their peers due to various family or health problems and children from better-off families by developing their natural gifts and abilities.

Capital Legal Services has been sponsoring St. Petersburg Charitable Non-Governmental Organization Perspektiva Center and Zolotoy Pelikan (‘Golden Pelican’) for the past six years. Since 2007 we have been cooperating with the Russian Karate Federation. In 2008 the Company became a member of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and was awarded the title of Earth Keepers. In January 2008 the Company started sponsoring Life – a St. Petersburg social shelter.

In the run-up to New Year 2010, when all people usually give each other special presents, we participated in a WWF charity event. This year WWF proposed its own range of New Year gifts which turned out to be not only a pleasure to buy, but also very helpful to nature. All funds received from these sales were used for support of the WWF program targeted at saving the Amur tiger.

In the end of 2009 we again participated in the Charity Instead of Business Gifts program. The main idea behind the program is the reallocation of funds generally allocated for Christmas gifts for clients to charity donations. In the context of this initiative we provided support to Misha Panarin and contributed to purchasing medication vitally required for Misha. We wish Misha and his family good luck and quick recovery.

The Company will continue to support charity programs aimed at child welfare, conservation of nature and the environment, and development of sports.

We hope that the social investments of our Company will prove to be fruitful.
